Wow, what a day!

Jordan woke up very refreshed and excited. She had a good practice at noon. We ate lunch
and she rested back at the hotel room. She seemed very relaxed. Jordan's event started at
3:40 pm. She was the third skater in the first warm up. 42 skaters from the nation competed
in Juvenile Girls. US Figure Skating divides the skaters into 3 groups of 14. Jordan skated
in the first group. Each group of 14 skaters then divide into another 3 groups, each group
having a 6 minute warm up. Jordan's warm up went very well. She was solid and didn't
look nervous. It was her turn to skate and she looked terrific. This is the first year Jr.
Nationals used the new judging system. It's too confusing to describe the new judging
system but Jordan scored her personal best! (49.09) She skated her best program of the
season at Jr. Nationals! She fell on her double flip/double toe combination but quickly
recovered and changed another jump for higher points. She received extra points for her
axel and double lutz/double toe. Her combination spin was also upgraded. We were very
proud of her...she was so happy and pleased. She also knew she was the underdog at this
competition. Her overall placement was 10th place! Jordan came off the ice so motivated
and excited to start her new season. She watched the rest of the Juvenile Girls and
discussed with her coach what is necessary for next year. I asked her if she was excited for
the two weeks rest from skating. She said "NO WAY!, I am ready to train for my double
lutz/double loop and double axel!" Jason was driving us nuts, not announcing. He can't
hold still and the idea to watch more figure skating about killed him...however, he
toughed it out! After the competition Jordan pigged out on french fries and a milk shake.
We start our seminars tomorrow and of course watching more figure skating. Jordan has
gained so much experience and ended her season on a positive, terrific final skate!

Thanks for all the support!
